Pumpkins
From Green to Gold to Young and Old, we sit and watch time pass.
With summer sun and bygone fun we whisper through the grass.
We shrink and grow and ebb and flow our season nearly here,
You carve our faces stout and strong against the Night of Fear.
We hear you shriek, we see you laugh, we guard you on this night,
For we know all too well of those who hide from human sight.
Come light the candle, set the wick, and place us by your door.
We’ll chase the tricksters all away with brightness evermore!
From the pumpkins of my Garden to the pumpkins of yours, Happy Halloween.
